Your mind and mood are positively impacted by physical exercise, as it releases those feel good chemicals, endorphins, reduces stress, boosts energy and so much more. So to support your mental and physical health as well as to feel and look your best, physical exercise is definitely something to incorporate into your lifestyle.

Here are a few tips to feel and look good.

Make it a habit

We have all probably experienced that sluggish feeling of not wanting to go for ‘that’ walk or go to the gym on any particular day. But when you make physical exercise a habit, it becomes a part of your routine and much more natural to simply do it and even more so enjoy it! According to the 21/90 rule, after 21 days a behavior becomes a habit and when you reach 90 days it becomes an engrained lifestyle habit. So start in whichever way works best for you and your approach to new habits, whether it be starting slow and walking everyday or signing up for a month of unlimited classes and going every day.

You don’t need a gym membership or a trainer.

A gym membership and going to a trainer can get expensive and while helpful, they aren’t necessary.  Nowadays, there are plenty of options for fitness apps that you can use anywhere, anytime.

Target problematic areas with specific workouts.

Everyone has a least favorite asset and an area they would like to improve. Instead of simply disliking how a certain part of your physique looks, be proactive about it and start targeting it in your workouts. For example, for many women, the inner thigh is a problematic area but by incorporating inner thigh exercises like these ones into your exercise regime, you’ll strengthen your legs, core and also get rid of excess fat in that area. Toning up the body areas that you’d like to improve will help you get that confidence boost and also help you feel better in your own skin.

Be positive

This might seem like a cheesy one.. but having a positive mindset can go a long way in terms of mind and body. Getting physical exercise in can be humbling at the start of your journey, but everyone has to start somewhere! So rather than getting down on yourself, be positive and keep pushing forward.

Make working out and taking care of your body fun

When something is fun, you’re more likely to keep it going. So go for a walk with a friend or loved one, try a fun workout that you’ve always wanted to, start up with a physical activity that you once loved and haven’t had or made the time for in recent years.

Love yourself

There is only one you in this world, so be proud of all that you are! Your figure and natural body shape is yours, so loving yourself and working with what you have will help give you that confidence boost in your own individuality. Be proud of yourself and most importantly, be kind to yourself

At the end of the day, it is all about how you feel. How you look will follow and does not have that much importance… the priority is feeling good in your own skin.
