Welcome to this week’s card reading, which is using the Work Your Light deck of oracle cards.

Here’s how this works: take a deep breath and calm your thoughts. If you have a specific question, hold it in your mind as you look at the image below, and choose the card or cards you feel most drawn to. Once you’ve chosen your card, scroll down to take a look at your reading.

Next week’s reading could be with a different deck of cards. Keep an eye out on Facebook for a poll as to which one I should use.

Don’t forget to please leave a comment either here or on Facebook (or you can send me a private message if you prefer) to let me know how you get on. I really appreciate your feedback as it helps me to know not only that you’ve read the post, but also that you have found it useful and want me to continue with these readings.

Here are this week’s cards:

1. Fill Up Your Well

Retreat. Rest. Refuel.

This card is here to remind you that you cannot pour from an empty cup – or an empty well. You need to take care of yourself first, or you will come to a point where you are unable to help or serve others. This means indulging in self care, even if you feel guilty for it and think you should be doing other things. In fact, especially at those times.
This week, spend some time doing something just for you. That could be reading a book, going for a walk or preparing a nutritious meal. Be sure to notice how easy it is to just take a few minutes here and there to care for yourself; it doesn’t have to mean you’re neglecting your other duties.

2. Awakening

Energetic updates. A new way of being. Integration.

You are going through an awakening right now, and things within you are changing. This might mean you no longer find the same things interesting or entertaining; your tastes may have changed on many different levels, and you may be discovering a deep appreciation for something that has never appealed or occurred to you before. Go with it, and try not to cling to the things you used to do out of fear or a desire to maintain old friendships. Share your spiritual experiences with like minded people, and listen to the voice deep down inside you which will guide you on the right path.
This week, spend some time journaling each day and pay close attention to your dream. There may be a message trying to get through, and this time spent in contemplation will help you to hear it.

3. The Crumbling

What are you clinging on to?

This is an inquiry card, asking you to think about this area of your life. There are changes taking place in your life right now, and many things will need to be left behind. This can be hard to deal with and often we try to cling to the familiar for fear of what lies ahead. This card is here to tell you it’s ok to allow your old world to crumble – what you are headed for is much more fulfilling and will be better in the long run. You can see in the picture that a large, dark tower is splitting in two to allow access to this beautiful new land. This is what is happening right now for you.
This week, work on letting go of what no longer serves you. Perhaps do a guided a meditation on letting go to help you release the things you have been clinging to.

4. Boundaries

Where do you need to establish better boundaries?

Boundaries can be a tricky issue for many of us. We strive to always be helpful and useful, and to always say yes. We let people borrow things we would rather not, and we say yes to things we don’t want to do. This card is here to tell you it’s time to put some boundaries in place and to stick to them. This can feel scary; we worry that people won’t like us if we say no. The truth is that if you always say yes and end up resenting the situation you end up in because of it, you will end up disliking yourself. Practise saying no, and doing so without apology. You owe nobody an explanation.
This week, think about where you need better boundaries, and find ways to implement them.

Just tried the oracle cards. Right now I am in a transition of a career change and asked if it is the right choice. I picked the top left which is ‘fill your well’. Not sure what it means, maybe take some time off for myself?
