When you work the same place you live, the lines of work and personal life tend to get blurred all the time. If you’re not typing away at the computer, you’re cleaning the house, picking up the kids from school, or preparing dinner. Essentially, you’re always in the thick of it. Although it comes with the role of being a mom, sometimes, even the best mothers need a break. Time away from your job, home, and your family help to keep you centered so that you’re able to keep working as hard as you do on all fronts.
Not sure how to take a break, or much less, where you’d go? Here are some suggestions any mom trying to take a break from it all can do.

Schedule  Lunch with the Girls
It’s great that you’re diligent about sticking to your personal and work schedule, but even the hardest workers take a lunch break. Try to make it a bi-weekly or monthly thing. Reach out to some of your friends, or perhaps other women who work from home and schedule a lunch date. Whether you go to a local cafe or splurge a bit at a nice restaurant, it’s time out of the office and away from the house. Not to mention, the kids are in school.

Take a Fitness Class
Here’s an idea that kills two birds with one stone. You can take a fitness class to maintain a healthy weight and to escape for a little while. Popular classes like pilates are great to join. All you need to get started is a few pairs of tights and tanks, some pilates grip socks that are breathable and non-slip, a water bottle, a towel, and you’re ready to go. Who knows, you might even make a few friends while you’re there.

Get a Massage
There’s nothing wrong with treating yourself to a little pampering on occasion. In fact, a massage doe not only feel good, but they can improve your health. When the right techniques are used, clients have experienced a boost in mood, less pain and tension in the muscles, a lowered heart rate, and a host of other benefits. Schedule yourself for a massage at least once every two months just to switch things up.

Retail Therapy
If you really want to treat yourself, shopping always works. You don’t have to have much to spend either. Challenge yourself to find neat things for cheap. You can browse neighborhood yard sales, stop by secondhand stores, clip coupons, and even shop on clearance racks. Just make sure that you’re shopping for you and not your kids as moms tend to do all the time.

Take a Mini Vacation
You may not be able to get away from your job, house, and kids for too long, but perhaps you could work out a night or two. You can take a mini vacation to a neighboring state and just stay in a nice hotel for a weekend. There’s a lot to do without ever having to leave your room. You can take a hot bath, watch a movie, order room service, swim in the pool, and just relax.

Working from home creates a dynamic that women who work in an office wouldn’t understand. Though it can be easier at times to juggle your personal and work responsibilities when you work from home, the problem becomes that you’re home all the time. Do yourself and your family a favor and learn how to make time for yourself. The above ideas can help you get away from it all whether it’s an hour, several hours, or for a weekend. You’ll feel so much better about life once you do.
