This evening S and I will be staying in Brighton, courtesy of Brighton Getaways

Regular followers of our escapades will know that we had to cancel a short break earlier this year because S had a bad case of chicken pox – so this will probably be our only trip this summer. We’re both quite excited!

I’ve not been to Brighton for about ten years, and S has never been there  – so we’re looking forward to exploring!

As well as this… I’m leaving my laptop at home!

pause for gasp

I never, ever leave my laptop at home; even when we went away for my birthday last year I brought the laptop along and worked in the evenings once S was asleep. The idea of taking a complete break from everything is slightly unnerving – though I will have my mobile, and I’ll be posting on social media. In fact, I’m planning to do a live video this evening on my Facebook page so keep an eye out!

We’re staying in a seaside patio apartment and I can’t wait for S to see it. The patio especially is very exciting and we will no doubt be eating breakfast out there tomorrow morning.

I’m looking forward to having some quiet time together without the distraction of work or TV or games or anything else… and I’m looking forward to getting in some serious reading once S is asleep!

Since we’re new to Brighton and will only be there for a short time, we’re looking to make sure we have as much fun as possible! What would you suggest? What is the one thing we absolutely should not miss on a trip to Brighton?
