S and I moved house in November, and immediately set about preparing for Christmas. Now that the festivities are well and truly over, we’ve begun furnishing our new home properly. Our bathroom at the old flat was tiny so there was no space for anything other than toothbrushes and towels! Our new bathroom is huge – and has an actual bath, which we’ve not had for a long time – so we’re having fun furnishing it with all sorts of things.

The LionsHome site is perfect for this; it’s filled with beautiful furniture and furnishings and it’s easy to find what you’re looking for… or to just browse around until you find something you didn’t know you were looking for!

First things first, we need a new bath mat. Our old bath mat has a hole in the middle, courtesy of the tiny mouse we were house-sharing with for the last few months at our old flat. At first I was looking for one to match our rather nice purple bathroom suite, but then I found this one:

I love novelty things like this, so this one is definitely on our shopping list!

The next thing on the list is bathroom storage. I wanted to get all of my cosmetics and bits and bobs out of my bedroom and stored sensibly in the bathroom. We already have a set of shelves in there, but I’m trying to be strict about not “displaying” things as if they’re ornaments when they’re just… clutter. So I decided to buy several baskets to keep things in on the shelves, and hopefully make things look a little more tidy. Luckily LionsHome has lots of different styles to choose from.

S and I hope to stay in this new house for quite some time, and we’re enjoying choosing new furniture and furnishings for it. It’s fun to browse around and find things, and to decide how we want things to look. Our house “has character” – it’s an old Victorian house with an extension built on and lots of little quirky bits including the purple bathroom suite and very old kitchen! We both love it and we’re enjoying adding to that character!
