S was sent a StarLily My Magical Unicorn toy to try out, which was a teensy bit exciting! She arrived during the day while S was out, so I sneaked into her box and undid all the ties to make it easier for S to get her out later… here’s what happened:

As you can probably tell, S was quite excited to find a unicorn waiting for her when she came home from nursery!

S enjoyed playing with StarLily for quite some time; the favourite thing seemed to be feeing her.

StarLily My Magical Unicorn

StarLily responds to voice and touch with more than 100 sound and motion combinations. She moves her head and hoof, makes noises and lights up her horn in different colours to reflect her mood. Her wings also flutter.

As well as all of this, StarLily interacts with an app that’s available for iOS and Android devices. We downloaded the app and synced StarLily with it; it takes a couple of minutes. For this part, we thought StarLily deserved a bit of a rest so she sat down.

The app took a bit of getting used to but once you get into it, it works really well with her.

You need to put the tablet/device to StarLily’s side to get her to connect

This is how you know StarLily is ready to play with you; her horn turns blue and you must touch it.

S really loved playing with StarLily and we’ve found that the more she plays with her – and with the app – the more she interacts and plays. The morning after StarLily arrived, S crept downstairs to play with her before breakfast. Apparentlt StarLily was hungry!

I think StarLily must get hungry a lot!

The only problem we’ve found with StarLily is that sometimes the app is unable to sync with her – though that may be more to do with my tablet and wifi connection than the app or StarLily! You can play on the app without StarLily though, and you can play with StarLily without the app – she’s still very entertaining and engaging.

NB we were provided with StarLily My Magical Unicorn in exchange for an honest review. All words and opinions are my own.

Oh, that does look like a lovely toy for a girl that age. :)
