Liz-Earle-Superskin-Serum-Review

I was quite excited to be sent some Liz Earle Superskin Face Serum for review.

Here’s what Liz Earle says about their fab new product:

Enriched with our most powerful naturally active ingredients, our luxurious and fast-absorbing Superskin™ Face Serum is your new ally for truly radiant, youthful-looking skin.

There are three key ingredients in this serum:

  1. Persian silk tree extract – to even skin tone
  2. Pomegranate flower extract – to lift and firm
  3. Rhubarb root extract – to plump and smooth

I was particularly interested in trialing this product because I am not a big fan of make up, and hate to wear foundation. Anything that will even my skin tone out so that foundation is not a daily requirement will be a definite plus for me!

You use this serum on the face and neck after cleansing and toning, and before moisturising.

The serum itself is thick with a yellowy tinge, which I found a little strange as I thin I was expecting something clear! It has a really fresh smell to it, which is nice first thing in the morning. It also absorbs into the skin quickly so you’re not waiting around before you can apply moisturiser. For me that’s a big thing, as I wasn’t too keen on adding another step to what I laughably call my morning “routine” when time is already at a premium.

I’ve been using the serum for a few days now, and I have to say I’ve noticed a difference.  Here are a few selfies I’ve taken recently which will hopefully show a difference in my skin.

me with no makeup, 2 weeks ago

The first photo was taken before I began using the serum; the second after one day of using it; the third after five days.

I wasn’t expecting to notice a difference so quickly, but my skin does feel smoother and I’ve noticed my nose and cheeks don’t seem as red as they did previously. I’ve had a pesky patch of dry skin on my forehead for weeks now, but after a few days of using this serum it’s almost completely gone and no longer itches.

I have quite an oily t-zone (despite the weird dry patch on my forhead lately), and most beauty products I’ve used tend to exagerrate that, but this product has not. It’s thick in consistency, but not heavy when it goes on and I feel like my skin is more healthy-looking now than it was before.

I am 34 years old, and I don’t think I looked particularly old to begin with – but this serum does seem to be making a difference with that. It’s not so much that I have wrinkles; more that my skin is starting to show the late nights, early mornings and poor diet that characterised my life pre S. From what I’ve seen of this serum so far, it seems to be working to reverse that dull, tiredness that’s been lurking since I became a mum – and that’s always a bonus!
