Goal Setting for Greatness

Welcome to my weekly goal setting linky. Thank you to everyone who joined in last week; for those who didn’t, here’s how it works. You can set yourself some goals, and join up to the linky – then we all leave positive and supportive comments on each other’s posts. Next week, we all come back and review how we did with this week’s goals, and then set some more.

I also set myself monthly goals, which you are of course welcome to join in with.

The only rules are that you must visit the two people directly ahead of you, and leave a supportive comment on their blog. There’s also a badge at the bottom of the page to add to your post.

Goals for August

Increase my Income by 5% – I feel like I have more chance of doing this in August, because I have more time for pitching and following up on leads. And for doing actual work for which I can invoice!

More work on the Background of the Blog – I have more ideas for things I want to do with the blog, including free downloads and landing pages. I want to work on getting all that sorted this month. The idea is that once I’ve produced my book and download, I have the structure in place to be able to send it out immediately.

Make a Dent in the E-Book – I’ve been thinking a lot about the whole e-book thing lately, and having more and more ideas. I think I have the idea decided now and with more time on my hands this month, I’ve no excuse! I think I’m going to schedule in a couple of mornings that I go straight from nursery drop-off to a local cafe so that I have no distractions or excuse.

Last Week’s Weekly Goals

Clear the Decks – the aim was to get all of my regular work out of the way so that I could concentrate on up and coming projects… I actually managed it, and may have managed to gain more work in the process! Win!

Work on a Landing Page for the Blog – I fiddled about with the website and created a reasonable landing page, but nobody will see it for some time…

E-Book! Nope. I did a lot of research into self publishing though, and selling through your site. Bascially, I procrastinated the arse off this goal.

This week’s goals

Pitch, Pitch, Pitch! – If I want to get more cash coming through the door this month, it needs to come from somewhere! I need to get out there and pitch to new customers.

Begin the Move – More on this in another post, but I’m moving parts of my blog over to a new platform, and I want to start that this week – so I need to get on with it!

List Small E-Book Steps – I’ve been reading a lot about goals lately, and how to hit the big ones. I want to make a list of what I need to do in order to complete the e-book, then break it down into small steps so that I can add a couple of things to my to-do list each day.

Now it’s your turn! If you’d like to join in please add the badge below to your post, and link it up here:

Please note: if your post does not include a list of goals for the week/month ahead, it will be deleted without prior warning.

Goal Setting for Greatness

This linky will be live until Wednesday evening (BST), so feel free to add a post later in the week if you’ve not got round to setting any goals yet.

I am impressed that you do weekly goals! Monthly goals are hard enough for me to accomplish. I do break them down for myself on daily to-do lists, but my schedule changes too much to attempt to focus on weekly goals. Ah, I need the weekly goals to keep me on track for the monthly ones! I keep them written on a magnetic pad on my fridge each week so I know what I'm working towards.
