Changes Afoot at Single Mother Ahoy
I’ve been thinking a lot about this blog lately. I seem to have two different types of post here. On the one hand, posts about my life with S, life as a single parent, personal stories about my past. On the other hand, I’ve been posting an increasing amount about work, productivity, blogging and social media. My podcast has become a similar thing too, with my most recent ones being about Facebook and how to use it to promote your blog or business.
Meanwhile, I have another website for my business, which I set up months ago, put a pretty cover photo on, and then didn’t really do much with. But I have big plans for my business, and big plans for this blog.
Can you see where this is heading?
From next week, all of my posts about blogging, social media, work and productivity – including the podcast – will be published on VickyCharles.com and rebranded as such. If you’re interested in that sort of thing, you may want to follow the Twitter account associated with that site, @vickycwrites. I also have a mailing list for updates about the posts on my new site, including tips and links I won’t be posting on the actual site, so I’d love if you’d sign up for that too!
I’m hoping that by splitting the two types of content out to separate sites, I can make both more streamlined. I don’t think “streamlined” is necessarily the word I was looking for there, but at the moment this blog feels abit like a muddle of lots of different things, and I’d rather have separate things. For now, at least.
I’d love some feedback, if anyone has tried this sort of thing before and was successful or unsuccessful with it, let me know!
Good luck taking the plunge, Vicky. I think you're doing the right thing - the design of the new site looks very clean and professional too. Tim recently posted...10 things you didn’t know about me
Hi Vicky, I think that makes sense. Good luck with it. I will be reading all of your single mum posts on this blog and dipping into your productivity and blogging site. See you soon. X Pen recently posted...Parenting plan: achievable or pipe-dream?
