I can’t even remember how this week has been – which means I have not been entirely present in what I’ve been doing. I’ve also not meditated. Coincidence? Nope!
Goal for last week
Last week’s goal was to cut back on my Coke Zero consumption. I’ve managed this, sort of! I’ve had days where I’ve not really fancied it, and days where I’ve not had any until very late in the day. Like with most things, I think the key is to leave it as long as possible before I start drinking it in a day. Once you start on it, you want more and more.
Goal for this week
This week I want to get more fruit and vege into my diet. I’m one of these people who has to work on things like that. It’s not that I don’t like vegetables; I love them. I’m just lazy, there’s no other excuse. I bought a copy of Deliciously Ella and it’s made me feel all inspired so I’ve filled my fridge with vegetables and now my challenge is to actually eat them – and hopefully get S eating them too!
Again, precious little exercise this week unless you count climbing the stairs to the flat carrying S, since she’s been very tired lately. And I don’t count that as exercise; I count that as something a person with an umbilical hernia probably shouldn’t be doing. In all honesty, the hernia does make me scared to do a lot of exercises. The more I read about it, the more I find that lots of exercises are not a good idea as they can make things worse. Effing great.
I have become very unimaginative with my food lately, and have had the same meal most evenings. It’s nice and all, but everything in moderation, and all that. I went out for dinner one evening this week, and ended up drinking red wine and prosecco, and having a pudding. Not fantastic! I rarely go out to dinner though, and it was at arguably the best Italian restaurant in Salisbury so I said before I left that I would eat and drink without worrying too much. The good news is it was amazing, and I didn’t have a hangover!
On the other days though, aside from my dinner I didn’t do very well. The sugar has been slowly creeping back into my diet and I don’t like that at all. Need to sort it out.

Hmm. At this point I feel like I’m doing that thing where the same pound and the same couple of inches are just going on and off, on and off. I need to get serious about cutting out the sugar and doing this properly!
