Goal Setting for Greatness 2015-06-08

Goal Setting for Greatness

Welcome to my weekly goal setting linky. Thank you to everyone who joined in last week; for those who didn’t, here’s how it works. You can set yourself some goals, and join up to the linky – then we all leave positive and supportive comments on each other’s posts. Next week, we all come back and review how we did with this week’s goals, and then set some more.

I also set myself monthly goals, which you are of course welcome to join in with.

The only rules are that you must visit the two people directly ahead of you, and leave a supportive comment on their blog. There’s also a badge at the bottom of the page to add to your post.

Goals for June

Maintain my Current Income Level – I was going to set myself the goal of increasing my income again, but I know June is a busy month with the sort of things that will help the blog/business in the long run, but won’t actually bring money through the door – and while I’m doing those things, I’m not earning money!

Improve my Blog Traffic – Last month my pageviews were much better than expected. I’m hoping I can increase my pageviews even further this month. I have yet to figure out how I’ll do that but I’m sure it’ll be fine!

Book in More Training/Speaking – Last month I did some training with a couple of local businesses, and also presented a short talk on using Facebook for business. I really enjoyed both. When I thought about setting myself the goal of doing more this month, my immediate response was “oh, no, I couldn’t do that” to which the goal-setting part of my brain responded “why the hell not!”

Last Week’s Weekly Goals

Send Blog Ideas Emails  – I had planned to send a list of blog ideas to several of my clients… it didn’t happen. I thought about it on Thursday, but didn’t get around to it. I could make an excuse, but the truth is that I just had a shitty week last week, work-wise.

Publish One Irregular Post Each Day – I almost managed this, but there were two days when I didn’t publish extra posts. For one of them, I had something planned but was too exhausted and needed to go to bed for an early start the next day. For the other… I don’t really know how I managed not to post – but I did publish 3 other posts on that day, so I’ll let myself off!

Make a List of Potential Training Clients – Nope. Didn’t manage this either. Considering I knew I had a busy week coming up, I wasn’t very kind to myself on the goal setting front last week!

This week’s goals

Send One Pitch Email – I feel all inspired by my trip to Blog Camp last week, and need to get into the habit of sending more pitch emails out. I’ve been busy for the last few weeks, but I know a couple of projects are coming to an end, and a couple more are on hiatus this month for various reasons. So I need to make sure those gaps are filled, and also that I have extra cash coming in.

Share Posts on Pinterest – I know that Pinterest is this amazing place where many bloggers find most of their traffic is coming from… I rarely use it. I’m rubbish at being consistent with Pinterest, and I need to make it part of my daily routine. This week I want to get into the habit of sharing my posts on Pinterest and also finding other great pins and interacting with others on there.

Complete my Tax Return (gasp!) – I need to renew my Tax Credits, and I can’t do that until I’ve done my tax return. I’ve sorted all my receipts and put most of them into my online accounting system so I really just need to finish that off, and then bite the bullet and submit it all…

Now it’s your turn! If you’d like to join in please add the badge below to your post, and link it up here:

Ahh you have reminded me that I need to do my Tax return! If you get on well with Pinterest, please let me know! It's one of those networks I am yet to spend quality time getting to grips with. Laura x x x My Life As A Mummy recently posted...Goal Setting // #2My Profile

Good luck with your goals. I don't understand pinterest at all. I was a trial member right at the start and loved it but it's changed so much and I got left behind x Janet Yarwood recently posted...Mummy and Monkey's Monday missionsMy Profile

I've been a member for ages too, but it's always been the one where I go "yeah, I'll do that later..." I'm great at spending hours looking at stuff on there; not so great at promoting myself on there!
