happiness challenge may


For those who are not aware, this year I am embarking on a happiness project. In January, I sang every day with S. In February, I attempted to address my health and fitness. In March I worked on gratitude, and in April I said hello to strangers.

I was having a little trouble deciding on a Happiness Project for May. Lots of people offered suggestions, but nothing really appealed to me. Then, a client I’ve worked with for a long time sent me details of a blog she wanted me to write. It was about meditation. I remembered that a long while ago, I learned primordial sound meditation. When I began, I committed to meditating every day for 21 days, in order to form a habit.  I ended up meditating daily for several months, and noticed a marked effect on my mood and general wellbeing. Then I stopped, for no discernible reason – and I’ve never really picked it up properly again.


So now is the time to begin again. There are 31 days in May, and I intend to meditate each day of the month. I know that meditation makes me calmer, more able to deal with stress, and generally happier… I look forward to ending the month on a much happier note!

I tried meditation last year, just with an app. I did notice a difference I felt much calmer and lighter. I really should get back into it again. Good luck and I look forward to hearing how you get on :)

    Thanks Becky, which app did you use? I use Insight Timer to time my meditations.
