Whooo, what a month! My February was really hectic for me, but I enjoyed it!

Let’s recap on how I did with my goals…

February’s Monthly Goals:

Begin Serious Business Planning – Don’t laugh; despite the fact I wrote this down and it was at the top of these posts all month, I kind of forgot it was here. I forgot I’d written these exact words. I always thought a business plan was just what you had to do if you were going to the bank to beg for money but my friend Jez gave me a bit of a talking to, and helped me to start a proper business plan. So I’ve gone from thinking I should probably sort out a real idea of what to do with my business, and an actual, real-life, grown up business plan.

Stick to my Happiness Project ChallengeFebruary’s challenge was to exercise and eat more healthily. I probably failed miserably at this. I could come up with a bunch of excuses about having no time, too much on my plate, blah blah – but it would be just that – excuses.

Get One Room Completely Sorted – I did not quite manage this one – but I had a good go at it! Since we moved in here, every room has had that awful junk-shop feel, with piles of clothes and paperwork and… well, junk in every room. My bedroom is quite large, and for months there has been a narrow path through the piles of crap from the door to the bed. The living room is long and narrow, and so often there hasn’t even been that narrow path. The tidying/clearing has been slow moving, purely because I have genuinely had a lot on my plate this month. I have cleared huge piles of junk out of the house though, and yet more has been carefully filed away on shelves or under my desk. The bedroom is looking a lot better, and after a slightly panicky incident involving the discovery of mouse droppings behind S’s wardrobe, her bedroom is positively spotless (if you don’t look at the teetering pile of toys on her bed).

Goals for March

Earn More Money – My plan is to bring more cash through the door than I did in February; either by securing new clients or increasing the work I do for existing clients.

Maintain The Blog Pace – You may have noticed I’ve been somewhat prolific with this blog so far this year. I’ve been averaging about 16 posts a week this year. I’ve no idea what happened to me over the new year, but for some reason I suddenly have all this stuff I want to post about, linkys I want to join in with, stuff I want to say. I’m amazed I’ve already published so many posts this year, but I’d like to be able to continue it!

Sort The Living Room! – I am frankly sick of the room being so cramped. This is a beautiful flat, newly decorated before we moved in. The problem is that the house we lived in before this was about twice the size – and it was full to bursting with crap. We moved quickly, and I didn’t have the time to go through and chuck all of the stuff that we never should have moved with. I need to do that now. There is no reason I can’t clear the living room up and have it looking half decent; there are only two of us living here, and one of us is too small tomake too much mess that can’t just be shoved back into the toy box at bed time.

Last Week’s Weekly Goals

Do My Presentation -I totally nailed this. I could not be more pleased with how my presentation went. I spoke for about 15 minutes about Twitter to a group of local business people, and had universally good feedback about it. One lady came up to me and said she’d been to a proper, organised half-day course the day before and had learned more from my talk. Several days later, I’m still buzzing – and I want to do it again!
Attack the Shelf! – This did not get done. In fact, I’ve probably put more onto it. There’s a pair of pyjamas I need to sew up, some rolled up sheets of coloured card, all sorts. It needs to go!
Crack on With the Work – I actually managed to do a fair amount of work this week. I think when I’m short on time and know I have a lot to do, I actually get my head down and get on with it, more than if I have a couple of clear days. There’s always more to do though!

The Nectar Collective

This week’s goals

Maintain the Buzz – I’m really buzzing from the success of our first networking meeting and my presentation, and that has carried through to other areas of my life. I’ve been weirdly productive both at home and at work, and I want to continue that.
Watch The Secret – I’ve been watching The Secret a lot lately; I have seen it numerous times before, actually. I find that I watch it, take it on board… and then over time, just sort of forget about it until it pops up in conversation again. When I watch it again, I feel all inspired and positive and I want to maintain that feeling – so I want to keep watching it, and not forget about it!
Clear that Bloody Shelf! – The junk on that shelf has to go. The walls in this flat are white, and that junk up there really stands out to me. Every photo I take of S has this pile of crap in the background, and every time I look at it I think, I need to get rid of that stuff… It has to go!
Have you set any goals this week? I’d love to hear how you’re getting on!

Thanks! I think you’re right – momentum is key!

Omg, i wish I had a way to bring in extra money! Good luck, wishing you much success with this one especially. Your shelf is my chair in my bedroom. I can never seem to get all the clothes and crap that seems to end up on it. I’ve been looking at it to get it done and just can’t.
Fingers crossed!

Thanks Kahleel! Have a go at the chair, I dare you!
