Welcome to another fun-filled week!

I’ve decided that since I’m going to the trouble of setting myself monthly goals, I should post them here every week to keep them at the forefront of my mind… So here are my goals for the month

Monthly Goals: February

Begin Serious Business Planning – By the end of February, I want to have a proper plan in place, and to have made steps towards growing the business. This includes securing at least one new client, and sorting out my new website which at the moment is little more than a domain name with a photo of me on it. My plan is that by the end of February I will have invoiced more (even £5 more) than I did in January. Update: I’ve been doing some projections, and have attended a few meetings… what I really need to do is get off my arse and go and find some clients!

Stick to my Happiness Project ChallengeThis month’s challenge is to exercise and eat more healthilyUpdate: I took a deep breath and published this post last week, with my starting weight and measurements… this week has been a little up and down, but I’m on the right path.

Get One Room Completely Sorted – One room in this flat (which has, at a push, 5 rooms) will be completely sorted by the end of February. Update: Er…I’ve a feeling the flat looks worse this week than last week! Will need to crack on with this one.

Weekly Goals

Cut my Coca Cola intake in half – I’ve not necessarily halved it, but I have cut back. On some days last week I managed half of my usual amount; on others, it was a struggle. I think I turn to Coca Cola when I’m stressed or tired, and last week was particularly stressful and knackering!
Work on the New Website – Unfortunately, the person who was supposed to be helping me with this is pretty much AWOL. I’ve made a couple of changes to it, but not done anywhere near as much work as I would like. Must try harder!
Keep up the Podcasting – I didn’t decide on my podcast topic this week until Tuesday lunch time, at which point I recorded and edited it straight away. Hopefully that doesn’t notice too much when people listen to it! I think I really need to set up a proper schedule for researching, recording and editing – this week was a little too hectic!

This week’s goals
Exercise at least three times – I’ve set this challenge for myself, but I’ve not really managed to make space for all of this cooking and exercising in my schedule! Last week I did an exercise dvd a few times, but it was very haphazard. I need to be more organised about making space in my day for these things, or it’s just not going to work!
Plan my time – This week I have some work coming in from a new client; I know she wants it turned around quite quickly, and I don’t think I’m going to find it very easy. I need to be more structured in my planning to ensure I can meet expectations and stay on top of things. Just lately I’ve been taking myself off to a coffee shop for a couple of hours, which I’ve found helps me to focus my time better.
Clear the sofa! – Don’t laugh (or be disgusted) – most days, I work from the sofa. My desk is a nuisance and the chair is the wrong height (and other such excuses). I have a habit of setting myself up on the sofa with my diaries next to me, then my pens follow, any book I’m supposed to be reading/reviewing, tissues if I have a cold, magazines I’ve bought, note books, random toys S leaves there… pretty soon, there’s space for my bum and little else. There’s no need for that; my living room is quite small and it’s not far to walk to my desk to put things back there when I finish working!
Have you set any goals this week? I’d love to hear how you’re getting on!

I’m always trying to cut my Coke intake too and I’ll do well for a few weeks and then I just HAVE to have one. Working on your website is always fun, it already looks great. Keep working at it! Good luck this week. :)

See, if I can manage to quit it all together, I can go months before I suddenly just buy one out of the blue one day!
Thanks for your compliment on the website! I love this one and am really proud that I did most of it myself. My new website is just a shell at the moment; I need to put some real effort in!

Thanks! So far, so good! Now I just need to keep it on track! Glad I’m not the only one working from the sofa!
