Is January over yet? Seriously, this month seems to be going on forever!
Last week was fairly awesome for us. It included being filmed by Russia Today for a piece about energy prices, meetings about my work, setting up a new website for work… and a couple of awesome things I can’t really mention publicly. It was a good week.
So how did I do with last week’s goals…
Nail the podcast – I have recorded it and am waiting for some magical jiggery pokery; hopefully it will be posted here on Wednesday. Watch this space!
Keep up with the blog – Last week I published 11 posts. Fewer than the previous week, but still an average of more than 1 a day so I can’t knock it!
Step up my work – weirdly, despite only doing proper work on one day this week, I feel like I achieved a lot. I also had two very productive meetings about my work, with a view to becoming a lot more professional and serious about what I do, and helping others to do the same. Fingers crossed, I’m heading in the right direction!
This week’s goals
Network! – I am going to a networking event this week. I know it’s something I need to do in order to grow my business… but I am terrified, and it’s entirely likely I will come up with an excuse to avoid going. What I want to do is to turn up and meet new people, without hanging around in the corner, sipping my coffee and checking my mobile instead of interacting with anyone. I am mortally shy at these sorts of things.
Take action – I had a meeting this week with an advisor who gave me loads of ideas, action points and names to help me get to where I want to go… I am terrible for making notes and then never looking at them again but I cannot afford to do that with these notes. I need to make sure I go through my list and do everything I resolved to do, during the course of that meeting.
Spend quality time with S – it’s so important to me that the time I spend with S is not just mooching about doing nothing. She’s so easy to please, and I feel like if the time we spend together is not well spent, then why am I bothering to be self employed in the first place! The whole reason I went down this route was to allow myself more freedom and time to spend with S. I need to keep that in mind!
Have you set any goals this week?
