Weekly Wishes

Another week, another set of goals to hit!

How was your week? I have still been fairly ill, and with S off nursery I didn’t expect to get much done so last week’s goals were fairly simple. I’ve had a good week though; it’s been nice to have the extra time with S, with extra cuddles and lots of messing about. We’ve spent time with friends and family too, which has also been good. Nursery is closed again this week, so I’m not expecting much, work-wise.

How did I do with last week’s goals?

Clear the living room – well, we got to Christmas day and had five adults and two toddlers in here reasonably comfortably… the only problem is that in order to clear the room, I put a lot of things in my bedroom! My bedroom is now a tip, but I’m loving the extra space in the living room!

Stress-free Christmas dinner/day – It was a lot less stressful than in previous years; I think that’s because my kitchen and living room are open plan now – so I could cook the food, wash up etc and still be involved in what was going on. Poor old S struggled with it all though, and there were a few tears.

Spend quality time with S – the day after Boxing Day, we spent the entire day home together, playing with her new toys and chilling out. We’ve managed to spend quite a bit of time just hanging about together, which has been lovely.

This week’s goals
Enjoy my time off – I am not technically back to work until the 5th, though I do have bits and bobs (like invoicing!) to do before then. I want to enjoy that time, and use it constructively to get on top of the blog, and play with S, rather than just wasting time on social media or queueing in shops to buy things I don’t need with money I don’t have!
Get the podcast set up  – I’ve been thinking about setting up a podcast for months, and I decided a few weeks ago that I would start it in the new year… I need to actually get on and put it into action now!
Tidy up after Christmas – now the festivities are over with, and we’ve been in the new house for a couple of months, I’ve really no excuse for not getting this place sorted out properly. I’m sick of having piles of stuff everywhere, and this week is likely to be the last time I’ll have a few days off in which to do things for a while.
