Topps, the UK’s leading collectables company has launched a brand new Marvel trading card game called Marvel Missions. S is mad for all things superhero, so I had a feeling she would enjoy this.

The collection includes iconic superheroes from the Marvel Universe including Iron Man, Captain America and Guardians of the Galaxy… and the super villains too, as well as vehicles and locations from a range of different movies to make up a collection of 240 cards.

Here is S sorting through her cards ready to check them off on her checklist.

This video shows how to play the game:

S and I have had great fun playing the game; she’s not really old enough to do it at the level shown in the video so we just compared power levels to see who would win over all.

S enjoys checking off her cards on the checklist; it’s something we can sit down and do together. And because the game is based solely on the power score of each individual card, she can win it without needing to be better at it than me – which is fun for a five year old!

This is a great game for children to play with their friends; they can make the game more sophisticated as they get older. As well as this they can enjoy spotting their favourite superheroes, villains, weapons and vehicles from superhero movies. S’s personal favourites are the hologram cards- we do love shiny things!

The collection is available at most shops including ASDA, Tesco, Morrisons, WH Smith and local newsagents.

Starter packs are priced at £4.99 and contain a binder, game mat, guide, one pack of cards and a Limited Edition card.

Individual packets of cards cost £1 and multipacks are £5.

You can also get Mini Tins priced at £5.99 which contain 40 cards including a Limited Edition card.
