Considering there are only two of us in the house, and I don’t really drink milk, we go through a lot of it in this house. S loves milk; often it’s easier to get her to drink milk than to eat a meal.

This photo is from yesterday morning, when S managed two Minion mugs filled with milk, but wasn’t too keen to finish the breakfast (bacon and rice cakes – her choice) I had cooked for her.

I used to buy the smallest bottles of milk in the shop, so that our milk would always be fresh. Then I realised it was easier to just buy a bottle of Cravendale. It comes in four-pint bottles, but it’s also filtered and stays fresh for a week in the fridge… well, I mean I assume it lasts a week in the fridge; it says so on the bottle. So far the longest it’s lasted is 6 days before the bottle was empty!

S doesn’t eat cereal, so she doesn’t have milk on her breakfast like most children. She will occasionally have porridge, which I will make with milk for her. We sometimes make puddings or custard with milk, and I will sometimes have it in my coffee. Mostly though, it’s just guzzled by my little pickle – who has a permanent milk moustache!
