Reasons to be Cheerful

Hello! Are you having a fantabulous week?

Here are my reasons to be cheerful this week:

The fair! – The fair is in town this week; in fact it’s so close, we can hear it from our front doorstep. Yesterday we went around it with S’s friend and they had a great time on the rides. I even went on a carousel with her – the first time either of us had ever been on one!

Being in the news – Last weekend we were featured in a story in the Observer about the cuts to tax credits. From that, a journalist I had worked with previously got hold of us and asked if we’d like to go on Good Morning Britain to talk about the story. After much humming and haaahing, they decided they didn’t need us to go to London, or to come out to do a live broadcast from our home at 6am (thank goodness!), but they did use our photo and use us as a case study.

Baking – I’m not the most domesticated of people, but at this time of year I always seem to want to bake. So far this week I’ve made mincemeat, apple cake, apple muffins and apple soda bread. Next on the list… I’m not sure, but it’s bound to contain apples, as we have loads to use up! Yum!peekaboo

How is your week going? What are you grateful for today?
