Reasons to be Cheerful

How is your week going? Have you been up to anything fun?

Here are my reasons to be cheerful this week:

Mumsnet Blogfest – I am so incredibly excited to have been asked to attend this year’s Blogfest as an expert in their popular Blog Clinic. I can now technically tell people I’m appearing on the same line-up as David Baddiel and Margaret Atwood. It’s a tenuous link, but I’m taking it! So bloody excited!

New Trainers – I’ve not had new trainers since before S was born; I did the Reading Half Marathon in 2009 and I’ve been using the trainers that saw me around that course since. They were well past their best though, and decidedly smelly – so yesterday I took a walk to the big out of town sports shop, took a deep breath and spent £20 on a pair of trainers. Get me.

Christmas – Yes, ok, I know it’s only September. But a card shop in town put out their Christmas cards on August 16th, and actually this year I’m quite excited for festive shenanigans. Last year S was sort of half aware of what was going on but didn’t really understand. This year she definitely understands and I can’t wait to have a brilliant festive season with her.
