Goal Setting for Greatness 2015-08-03
Welcome to my weekly goal setting linky. Thank you to everyone who joined in last week; for those who didn’t, here’s how it works. You can set yourself some goals, and join up to the linky – then we all leave positive and supportive comments on each other’s posts. Next week, we all come back and review how we did with this week’s goals, and then set some more.
I also set myself monthly goals, which you are of course welcome to join in with.
The only rules are that you must visit the two people directly ahead of you, and leave a supportive comment on their blog. There’s also a badge at the bottom of the page to add to your post.
Goals for July: How Did I Do?
Increase my Income by 5% – This didn’t happen! I feel like July was just madness from beginning to end, and I was chasing my tail for the entire month. A couple of things have finished now though so I will hopefully have more time for expanding my empire!
Work on the Background of the Blog – I’m really proud of all the little changes I made with the blog this month. I’ve added hidden pages, put in a comment redirect, tinkered with the design a little and done all sorts of things I would never have thought myself capable of before.
Write an E-Book – Yep. Didn’t happen. See my excuse for the first goal! Must do better.
Goals for August
Increase my Income by 5% – I feel like I have more chance of doing this in August, because I have more time for pitching and following up on leads. And for doing actual work for which I can invoice!
More work on the Background of the Blog – I have more ideas for things I want to do with the blog, including free downloads and landing pages. I want to work on getting all that sorted this month. The idea is that once I’ve produced my book and download, I have the structure in place to be able to send it out immediately.
Make a Dent in the E-Book – I’ve been thinking a lot about the whole e-book thing lately, and having more and more ideas. I think I have the idea decided now and with more time on my hands this month, I’ve no excuse! I think I’m going to schedule in a couple of mornings that I go straight from nursery drop-off to a local cafe so that I have no distractions or excuse.
Last Week’s Weekly Goals
Submit my year-end tax return & tax credits figures – Nailed it! It was really scary; it all felt a little too easy, but I did it, and now I can crack on with making sure this year’s accounts are kept up to date so that next year’s aren’t such a big kerfuffle… said everyone, the week after they’d filed their tax return!
Continue working on evergreen content – I’ve been editing my list down and trying to put it into some sort of order. Ongoing!
Work on at least one of the ebooks! – I’ve been working not so much on the ebook, but everything surrounding it this week. If I’m honest, I think I probably have a bit of a mental block on this one; I think it’s fear related, and the only way to get over it is to get on with it.
This week’s goals
Now it’s your turn! If you’d like to join in please add the badge below to your post, and link it up here:
Please note: if your post does not include a list of goals for the week/month ahead, it will be deleted without prior warning.
This linky will be live until Wednesday evening (BST), so feel free to add a post later in the week if you’ve not got round to setting any goals yet.
