Goal Setting for Greatness 2015-06-22
Welcome to my weekly goal setting linky. Thank you to everyone who joined in last week; for those who didn’t, here’s how it works. You can set yourself some goals, and join up to the linky – then we all leave positive and supportive comments on each other’s posts. Next week, we all come back and review how we did with this week’s goals, and then set some more.
I also set myself monthly goals, which you are of course welcome to join in with.
The only rules are that you must visit the two people directly ahead of you, and leave a supportive comment on their blog. There’s also a badge at the bottom of the page to add to your post.
Goals for June
Maintain my Current Income Level – I was going to set myself the goal of increasing my income again, but I know June is a busy month with the sort of things that will help the blog/business in the long run, but won’t actually bring money through the door – and while I’m doing those things, I’m not earning money!
Improve my Blog Traffic – Last month my pageviews were much better than expected. I’m hoping I can increase my pageviews even further this month. I have yet to figure out how I’ll do that but I’m sure it’ll be fine!
Book in More Training/Speaking – Last month I did some training with a couple of local businesses, and also presented a short talk on using Facebook for business. I really enjoyed both. When I thought about setting myself the goal of doing more this month, my immediate response was “oh, no, I couldn’t do that” to which the goal-setting part of my brain responded “why the hell not!”
Last Week’s Weekly Goals
Send at least five pitch emails – I sent two, in the end. I was talking to someone about pitching this weekend at Brit Mums Live and we both agreed that we have trouble coming up with inspiration as to who to actually pitch to. And if you don’t really love the company or brand, I really don’t think you should pitch to them as you can’t be genuinely enthusiastic to or about them. So only two. Better than none.
Get ahead with the blog – er… well, when I left for Brit Mums on Friday I had a post scheduled for Saturday morning but that’s about it. The bare minimum of getting ahead!
Complete my tax return – didn’t happen. I didn’t even look at it. What I did do was open my Tax Credits renewal form and realise I have until the end of July, which was good as it took the pressure off on what was really a very hectic week.
This week’s goals
Finish that accounting job – I’m doing someone’s year end book keeping tasks, and promised I would have everything completed by this Thursday. To be honest, if I can get that done I’ll be pouring myself a large glass of wine!
Write up my notes from Brit Mums Live – Half way through Brit Mums I realised that there was no point in scribbling all these notes if I didn’t go through them later and make a list of action points from them.
Nail some training – I have an appointment today with a client for some training. I want to do a really good job and not get sidetracked by showing him other things or getting into irrelevant discussions.
Now it’s your turn! If you’d like to join in please add the badge below to your post, and link it up here:
This linky will be live until Wednesday evening (BST), so feel free to add a post later in the week if you’ve not got round to setting any goals yet.

Sorry I didn't manage to remember to link last week! I hope you had a great time at britmums, I think you are wise to only pitch to brands you are passionate about, quality over quantity is a great rule of thumb for collaborations (and something I should consider more!) good luck with your accounts, I hope you get that glass of wine by the end of the week ;) Leandra recently posted...|ACHIEVE|goal setting for greatness - goals progress 22 June
