Goal Setting for Greatness

Welcome to my weekly goal setting linky. Thank you to everyone who joined in last week; for those who didn’t, here’s how it works. You can set yourself some goals, and join up to the linky – then we all leave positive and supportive comments on each other’s posts. Next week, we all come back and review how we did with this week’s goals, and then set some more.

I also set myself monthly goals, which you are of course welcome to join in with.

The only rules are that you must visit the two people directly ahead of you, and leave a supportive comment on their blog. There’s also a badge at the bottom of the page to add to your post.

Goals for June

Maintain my Current Income Level – I was going to set myself the goal of increasing my income again, but I know June is a busy month with the sort of things that will help the blog/business in the long run, but won’t actually bring money through the door – and while I’m doing those things, I’m not earning money!

Improve my Blog Traffic – Last month my pageviews were much better than expected. I’m hoping I can increase my pageviews even further this month. I have yet to figure out how I’ll do that but I’m sure it’ll be fine!

Book in More Training/Speaking – Last month I did some training with a couple of local businesses, and also presented a short talk on using Facebook for business. I really enjoyed both. When I thought about setting myself the goal of doing more this month, my immediate response was “oh, no, I couldn’t do that” to which the goal-setting part of my brain responded “why the hell not!”

Last Week’s Weekly Goals

Send one pitch email – I more than nailed this! Inspired by the idea that only one in ten pitch emails gets an answer, I sent out blummin loads! I even had a couple of answers.

Share posts on Pinterest – I did this too, and even did some research into why Pinterest is great for bloggers. Now all I need to do is keep it up!

Complete my tax return – not so much! Am a bit scared by it to be honest. I need to just bite the bullet and get it sorted.

This week’s goals

Send at least five more pitches – I think the thing about sending pitch emails is that the first few times you’re not sure what to write or what information you need to include. I wrote loads of pitches last week so I want to make sure I keep up with that momentum.
Get ahead with the blog – I’m off to Brit Mums Live on Friday which is great – but I want to make sure I still publish the same posts I would normally have put up over a weekend, which means forward planning! I want to make sure that when I leave home on Friday morning I know I have everything set up and I don’t need to worry about publishing until Sunday.
Complete my tax return – you know a goal is important if it appears two weeks in a row! I need to get this sorted as soon as possible, time is running out now!

Now it’s your turn! If you’d like to join in please add the badge below to your post, and link it up here:

This linky will be live until Wednesday evening (BST), so feel free to add a post later in the week if you’ve not got round to setting any goals yet.
