Goal Setting for Greatness 2015-06-01

Welcome to my weekly goal setting linky. Thank you to everyone who joined in last week; for those who didn’t, here’s how it works. You can set yourself some goals, and join up to the linky – then we all leave positive and supportive comments on each other’s posts. Next week, we all come back and review how we did with this week’s goals, and then set some more.
I also set myself monthly goals, which you are of course welcome to join in with.
The only rules are that you must visit the two people directly ahead of you, and leave a supportive comment on their blog. There’s also a badge at the bottom of the page to add to your post.
Goals for May – Recap
Bring More Money Through The Door – My goal for May was to make at least £100 more than I had in April… As it happened, I made £220 more than April, which is pretty handy. What’s even better is that the extra cash came from the areas of my business I’m expanding: the blog, training and writing. Fabulous.
Improve Blog Traffic – My aim for May was to increase my pageviews on April, since in April I was 800 down on March. As it was, I beat both March and April’s pageviews. I’m pleased with how the blog is going at the moment; I’m hopeful I can maintain this momentum!
Get to Inbox Zero – I failed on this one, but it wasn’t a complete disaster. I started the month with 110 unread emails, and at the time of writing I have 35. So I’ve cut them right back.
Goals for June
Maintain my Current Income Level – I was going to set myself the goal of increasing my income again, but I know June is a busy month with the sort of things that will help the blog/business in the long run, but won’t actually bring money through the door – and while I’m doing those things, I’m not earning money!
Improve my Blog Traffic – Last month my pageviews were much better than expected. I’m hoping I can increase my pageviews even further this month. I have yet to figure out how I’ll do that but I’m sure it’ll be fine!
Book in More Training/Speaking – Last month I did some training with a couple of local businesses, and also presented a short talk on using Facebook for business. I really enjoyed both. When I thought about setting myself the goal of doing more this month, my immediate response was “oh, no, I couldn’t do that” to which the goal-setting part of my brain responded “why the hell not!”
Last Week’s Weekly Goals
Finish my accounts – not even close. I failed miserably at this and have no excuse. I could have done it, but I spent the time I had free, working on someone else’s accounts instead.
Get at least a day ahead with the blog – I drafted this post on Saturday, so I’m getting there. Ideally I would like to be consistently two days ahead so still a little more work to do on this one.
Get down to 30 unread emails – I did this, but I found it hard to stick to. I think the problem is that when newsletters and junk come in, I want to delete the mails – but then I think, “oh no, you can open them later and unsubscribe so that they don’t come in again”… and then I just end up leaving them unread for ages, while more mail comes in on top of them, so they’re obscured from view and therefore out of my mind!
This week’s goals
Now it’s your turn! If you’d like to join in please add the badge below to your post, and link it up here:
This linky will be live until Wednesday evening, so feel free to add a post later in the week if you’ve not got round to setting any goals yet.

You have some great goals listed, I need to focus on income as well. Great job being self-employed and getting your name out there, very inspiring to someone like me who would like to do something similar to what you are doing! :) Kate recently posted...Weekly Menu #20 +T25/P90X3 Schedule Week2

Well done for getting your emails down, you've done so well even if it's not quite at the levels you are aspiring to. Good luck with your plans for this week and have a fantastic time at BlogCamp :) x Leandra recently posted...|ACHIEVE|weekly focus - 1 June
