My Life with S

Reasons to be Cheerful 2015-05-21

Reasons to be Cheerful

I keep forgetting to actually add this post to the linkys I normally join in with – which is decidedly rubbish! I think it’s a good exercise to write it any way..

Here are my reasons to be cheerful this week:

De Af’s Birthday – it was my sister’s birthday yesterday. You know, Auntie Af, who looks after S for me all the time? We had a mini celebration at our house with my other sister (Smooch) and her two gorgeous children, and Af’s friend Kelly. We also had a surprise guest appearance from The Taxi Driver Poet, who popped in to recite some poetry just for my sister. How lovely is that!

Blogging – This week has been really great in terms of the blog. I was nominated in the MAD Awards for Blog of the Year; I was in a national newspaper (not related to the blog, but it brought more traffic my way); my blog somehow jumped 69 places to number 35 in the Tots 100 chart, which was a lovely surprise considering I was expecting to drop considerably this month. I’m also really looking forward to going to Blog Camp at the beginning of June, and then Brit Mums Live later in the month.

Lovely Friends – Last weekend S was invited to a birthday party. I was really not looking forward to it, wondering how I would pass two hours in a room full of over-excited 3 year olds whose parents I barely know. These things can sometimes feel a little cliquey and I really didn’t want to end up sitting in the corner on my own! As it turned out, another mum from nursery was there with her little girl and gorgeous baby, and I had a lovely time chatting to her. And then on Monday, S had a friend round for tea and her mum came for a chat and we all had a thoroughly enjoyable time.

What are you grateful for this week?
