weekly weigh in #5

This week has been interesting. I’ve not done as much exercise as I would have liked, because I ended up being fairly busy. But my eating has been better, and I’ve cut right back on sugar.

Goal for last week

I did cut right back on my sugar intake. I’m still drinking Coke, but nowhere near as much – and I’m not eating anywhere near as much junk as I was. Having read That Sugar Book, I’ve moved on to Sweet Poison and I’m finding that reading and learning more about sugar and how it works in our bodies is keeping me motivated to steer clear of it.

Goal for this week

This week I intend to completely stop drinking Coke. The only reason I haven’t until now was that I had things going on where I couldn’t afford to be headachey and knackered. I couldn’t do it over the weekend because it’s not fair on S to spend her weekend with a big old grouch who just wants to lay in bed and nurse the mother of all headaches. This week, I need to just get on and do it!

Exercise

I did do some exercise last week, but nowhere near as much as I would have hoped. I think I did the Davina dvd once, and then did some kettlebell lifting a couple of mornings.

Food/Drink

I’m getting better at eating breakfast, and finding that helps with the rest of the day. I think I ate chocolate on one day last week, which is a massive improvement on a normal week. I’ve also done my best to cut out snacking in the evenings – after S goes to bed is the time I’m usually straight into the kitchen trying to find “something nice” to eat. I need to just accept that there is nothing sugary in my kitchen, so there’s no need to go looking for it!

Weight & Measurements

Weight: 167lb. Last week: 168lb.
Neck: 14″ same as last week
Bust: 37″ Last week: 37.5″.
Waist: 35″ Last week:  35.5″
Hips: 39″ Last week: 39.5″.
R&L Thigh: 23.5″/23″ Last week:  24″/23.5″
R&L Calf:  14.5″/14″ same as last week

I’m really pleased with this; a good result despite not really doing much in the way of exercise. Since I first re-started my healthy eating/weight loss plan at the beginning of March, I’ve lost 5lbs, and ten inches over all which I’m very pleased about.

I feel like I’ve made a good start on my weight loss – but more importantly, I’ve finally begun to cut sugar out of my diet which feels like a massive positive step.

I love that you log all your measurements, I want to follow you just to see how you progress as I’m trying to lose weight myself. Congratulations on your weight loss so far and keep at it!

Thanks! I think the sugar is what’s making a difference right now. I’m hoping to take more off my waist this week… fingers crossed!

The weight is coming off and the inches are dropping off you – that is an amazing loss throughout March! Another book I need to check out now! I’ve definitely limited the amount of sugar I have on a daily basis, but certainly need a pick me up when I get back from the gym to stave off the afternoon headache – a cuppa sorts me out… she writes, sitting here nursing a black coffee! ;)
Well done on a fab month chick! Sim #WeightLossWednesday xx

Well done on starting clear of sugar. That stuff is bad! I quit two years ago (although I have an occasional treat) and can tell from personal experience life is much better now. #frombloggingtojogging

Seeing those inches lost must be a great motivation – I’m starting to wonder if I should have measured? I don’t really ‘do’ exercise so I’m hoping a change in my diet kicks me in the right direction and then maybe I can add in some exercise at a later date.

It’s amazing the difference that sugar has on our bodies, I don’t have a huge sweet tooth but I can always tell when I’ve had more sugar than usual. Good luck with cutting cola out of your diet – my friend went through it a while ago and she felt awful at the time but then afterwards she said she never felt better. I was the same when I cut caffeine out of my diet, I felt hideous at the time, but now when I drink caffeine I feel awful! Once you get through the first few days you’ll notice the improvement. #weightlosswednesday

Thanks, I’m still struggling with getting through the first few days at the moment – because I have a really bad temper and am really stressy, and that’s no fun for my daughter!

I would say measurements are more important than weight to me if I’m honest. I don’t care what I weigh; I care that I can look good in the clothes I own, so that I don’t have to go out and buy more in a larger size!

Well done! I’ve re-started healthy living recently and cutting out sugar has really helped me. Good luck next week with giving up Coke! #weightlosswednesday

Thanks! I think I’ll need it to be honest. It’s 50% pysical addiction to the sugar/caffeine combo, and 50% habit of drinking it at certain points in my day!
